Need the tools

When something isn’t right with a process it’s convenient to start blaming the tools. If only we had this new feature, if only we had the latest and snazziest update, if only it was on an iOS, on Android, it we could use it this way or that.
And of course, your team need the tools for the job.
But before you invest in another new suite or indulge the latest manager through the door who swears they used to use X at their old place and it worked so wonderfully … work out first if what they really need is training, or a bit more experience, or to work out to hold the tool like this and not like that.
If something isn’t going right, it’s less likely to be the process and more likely to be the way it’s being used.
