Count on

Still struggling with accountability and what it means in the context of you and your team, let’s play some word games.

It means having the ability to count on someone to do something.

They’ve said, you can count on me, to the point where we rely on them to deliver on the thing.

That doesn’t mean click and collect; you still have to pay attention, show care and support them if and when they raise their hand for help. But it’s a reasonable expectation that they will do the thing we’re counting on them to do.

From the other end, at any point during the project, the responsible adult should have the ability to account for their time and any other resources they’re bringing to bear, and to describe the actions they’ve taken, particularly in relation to the plan.
