Process operates as standard
Some things are truly one-of-a-kind. There’s no choice but to make them up as you go along, learning along the way just in case there’s a next time that’s similar enough to benefit from the lesson. In truth, every new thing starts this way. It’s a game of organising complexity, bringing together the moving parts so they coalesce, just like this, for just this purpose.
And you get used to it.
Which is outstanding if that’s the business model. Everything organised as something special. Everything is different, endless variations, hand-tooled every time. Everything’s slower, more expensive, and takes more effort.
If that’s not the business model, if you’re looking for consistency and repeatability with fewer variables and lower costs, simplify. Build the learning into the standard operating process and organise to make sure the process operates as standard.
The aim: delivering the value more easily.
Skippy strategy: Squeeze out complexity.
