Should we involve the staff in designing the systems and processes they’ll use?
Should we involve the customers in decisions about how best we can serve them?
Should we ask questions about products and services and incentives and initiatives and deliverables and projects?
Should we ask questions of partners and suppliers and team members and managers and customers and lawyers and shareholders?
Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.
It’s certainly possible to make decisions about and design things for the people most intimately involved or most closely interested.
It can be done, but why would you?
You might get close to a decent answer, but probably closer to a one-sided answer that doesn’t stand its first engagement. It’s probably quicker – and quickness might be the only metric – but most times, quicker isn’t usually smarter.
Why not aim at smarter?
