Still a fog

Golden

Silence can mean many things. Maybe it’s that they don’t know what to do and it’s easier to say nothing that say they don’t know what to say. Maybe it’s that they’re busy with other things, something that just came up and has shouldered its way to the front of the pack, and haven’t had the time or the headspace to think of anything else. Maybe they know what they think but are nervous of your reaction, so they’re keeping shtum to protect themselves, for now, from the difficult conversation. Maybe it’s none of those things. Maybe they just forgot. Maybe they’re ill.

The easiest way to shortcut the silence is to pick up the phone, walk into the office, ping them on slack, knock up and email, and ask. If it’s still a fog, at least you both know.

Skippy strategy: Whenever you’re not sure, no harm in asking.
