The hang-leaver

Flood

It’s axiomatic that things don’t get done unless people do them.

And most times, people don’t.

They leave them hanging.

If your customer is waiting, you left them hanging.

Communication helps – it’s possible to feel, erm, not hanging, if you tell them the what and the why of the delay … if you fill the vacuum with updates. But most times, you don’t do that either. Part of the thing that isn’t getting done, is the talking part.

So. They. Hang.

Don’t do that. Don’t be the hang-leaver.

Be the other guy. The rarer guy. The one who does what they say they’re going to do and let’s people know when they can’t (and has a plan for how to overcome the issue).

The one they like to deal with.

Skippy strategy: Do what you say you’re going to do. Tell them when you can’t.
