Then orchestrate

There’s someone on your team who seems to have more potential than they deliver. They’re smart enough, they’re in a position where they can shine and they handle the day-to-day as well or better than anyone around them, yet you know there is more. Not more energy so much as more impact. If only they’d take that final step, shoulder their way through the door, and see what you can see.
So tell them. It’s not negative feedback. They’re doing a great job. This is about what it takes to reach the next level – the one where they make things happen. One up from doing things right, this is where they see what needs to change and then orchestrate the changes and then they organise some more so the whole team benefits from the changes that were made.
