Who doesn’t know

Dealing with the unknown is table stakes whenever you start a new project.

You come across things you didn’t expect, so you plaster over the hole, make things good and get on with doing the best job you can. Five minutes of experience means you know there are things you don’t know and you’ll need contingencies to fill in the gaps.

You do it, they do it, we all do it.

When you come across things you didn’t know, but everyone else did, that’s where the irritations lie. Not so much that you can’t deal with them, you probably can. The sore comes from lack of openness at the start, those gotchas everyone (else) knows but nobody mentioned.

So ask. What else do I need to know that we haven’t talked about already?
