You’ll need trust
One day, maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon … you’ll need trust.
You’ll need to trust someone on the other side of the table. Someone you’re relying on, someone you need if you have any chance of doing what you want to do.
You’ll need someone on the other side of the table to trust you. You’ll need them to give you the benefit of the doubt, to work with you on the assumption that you’re both working towards related and equitable ends, to do what you ask just because you ask.
There are two options. Wait until you need it (and see how that works for you), or build it when you don’t need it (which is a nice way of going through life anyway).
Building trust is about being honest, straightforward, open, agreeable and good to work with.
Skippy strategy: Build trust when you don’t need it.
