It has to be said
When something’s on your mind, and it concerns the team or task at hand, you have to talk about it. Most of us are pretty good at that in principle – we talk about it and moan about it and yak about it to anyone who’ll listen.
We talk about it in every place and to every one except where it matters; we hold back in the meeting.
That won’t solve anything.
It won’t get the subject on the table, it won’t move things forward, it won’t air the differences of opinion, it won’t build a cohesive position that everyone agrees to act on. It will ignore division, it will be a waste of energy and time, it will leave bad decisions in place and allow resentment to fester, it will cause politics.
Skippy strategy: If it needs to be said, it needs to be said in the meeting.
