It’s not racing

Every leader dreams of high revving, fast moving thoroughbreds that eat up the miles and take the corners at full tilt. But not everyone is a racer, and few teams need them at every position.
What we do need: sure performers with a strong work ethic, people who can chow down and convert a stack of work to be done into a stack of work that’s been done, people who are reliable, do what they say they’re going to do and do the whole thing with a smile in their eye and a skip in their step.
If you can find all those attributes in every member of your team, I guess we’ll see you on the moon. For the rest of us, a little of some, and plenty of the other – and nobody who lets you down on both.
Skippy strategy: It’s not racing, it’s building a team of talents.
