Their own rules

There’s a rot.
It started with lack of clarity and progresses without boundaries. After a while, some of your people worked things out for themselves, and not in a good way.
The question they’re wrestled? How do I fit?
A slow motion internal dialog played out over months. They looked around and saw others making up their own rules. And they thought (without knowing they’re thinking it) … “all-righty then!”
They took on the easy and the interesting, things that were fun, challenging but not too challenging. Maybe they were attracted to glory, or big titles and avoidable accountability. They didn’t like risk or early mornings or actual … you know …work.
Everything slowed.
The alternative? Clarity and progress and expectations.
The method? Worst case, you tell them and hold them accountable. Best case, you work it out between you and hold each other accountable.
Skippy Strategy: Clear expectations, all the time.
