A few feathers

Walls

We’re not really in the excuses business. We’re in the take it on the chin business. The call it out when you see it business. The not letting it slide business. The do what it takes even if that means ruffling a few feathers business.

None of that means necessarily taking the shortest path from A to B, nor does it mean acting or talking without grace and sensitivity.

It does mean saying what you have to say without pulling punches. It does mean being direct – so there’s no doubt about what you’re saying and what it means. There’s no need for aggression, or emotion – although passion is good.

When things go wrong, or someone isn’t pulling their weight, don’t look to make excuses. Look to deal with the situation as it is – no muss, no fuss – and then get on with the next thing.

Skippy strategy: No more excuses.
