Is it helping?
Everyone likes to help. Everyone likes to step in when they see someone struggling with something they know how to do. The good people anyway. And you only have good people on your team. So it’s natural that they like to help each other out. Nothing wrong with that.
Except when there is. Except when helping out when someone’s struggling means neglecting your own work with bigger impacts down the line. Except when being involved means getting in the way of other people, the right people, working out how to do things for themselves.
Helping out is good. But decisions to help have to be taken with eyes wide open. If this, then that. If I do this, then what is the impact and is that the best outcome in the round? That doesn’t mean leaving them to struggle, it means finding a good way to help.
