It’s entirely possible to build a team that does an amazing job. They work hard, work together, pull-off more than is normal and have a good time doing it.
If that’s not your team, why not?
Maybe, in hindsight, you made some poor choices about who to bring on board. Maybe you didn’t notice until it was too late. Maybe you mismanaged them. Maybe something happened outside of your influence. Maybe. Maybe. Maybe. For sure, you didn’t do anything about it.
Maybe, now you look at it, the world has turned and their skills haven’t kept up. Maybe you’re still asking them to do (or they’ve manoeuvred themselves into) a job that doesn’t add value. Maybe, they’re not team players. For sure, you didn’t do anything about it.
If it’s not the team you want, why is it the team you’ve got?
Skippy strategy: The team you have is a choice.
