As people pleasers, we like to say Yes. This tendency to agree to give people what they want sometimes gets us in two kinds of trouble.
Saying…
If they’re like, oh I don’t know, 100% of the rest of the human race … they like it when things work without a fuss.
They like well martialled arguments that draw a clear line from the opening thought to the coherent conclusion.
They like all the numbers to add up and all the workings out to be right there if they need them.
They like a nice orderly audit trail that they can follow from where they are now to where things started.
They like it when everything is in its place, on schedule, exactly as specified.
They like it when issues are dealt with quickly, honourably and without fuss.
What they really like, is when you do the things you say you’re going to do, brilliantly, so they can get on with doing the things they’ve committed to themselves.
