Don’t care

And the thing is, and the thing is, and the thing is … if you let it slide this time, you’ll probably let it slide next time. And then everyone will expect you to let it slide the time after that, and they’lll probably expect you to let things like this slide every other time too. So you’re building a culture of letting things slide.
Maybe it’s a little thing. Maybe. And it doesn’t matter. Maybe.
Maybe it an interpersonal thing, which means you don’t care about interpersonal things. Maybe it’s a personal thing (or a person thing), which means you don’t care about personal things (or person things). Maybe it’s a performance thing, which means you don’t care about performance things. Whatever kind of thing it is, if you let it slide, it means you don’t care.
And if you don’t care, why should they listen?
