Let alone tomorrow

When the world goes around, it’s not just the date that changes. Every little thing inside (and outside) the organisation and the team evolves. People gain experience and grow, some skip across the surface, others dive deeper, requirements changes, the roles change, skills develop and ambitions take on substance.
The roles you had and the people that filled them yesterday may not be the roles and the people you need today, let alone tomorrow. Some roles are not longer required, some are bigger, some have shifted. Some people need pushing forward, some need moving, some need training, and some need to look elsewhere.
It’s not a bad thing, it’s to be expected.
What turns it into a bad thing is when you fail to recognise it or fail to do something about it.
