No matter what

Whatever your planning frequency, after discussion and careful thought, you write down objectives and the things to need to do to get you from here to there.
You maybe add some review points to share progress and adjust as required.
The meeting ends, the world turns, and all is good.
Then something comes up.
Then you head toward the next planning phase.
Somehow, the world turned but most of those thoughtful objectives and agreed actions failed to turn into achievements met and actions completed.
Turns out, that discussion, those thoughts, the objectives and a bunch of the to-dos, should have been labelled a wish list.
Or, “things we’d like to do if nothing else comes up”.
But those other things did come up.
They always do.
Next time, a shorter list, “things we’ll do no matter what”.
