See the numbers

Do your team need to see the numbers? Yes and no.
Yes, because why not, because it’s a critical data set, because they’re driven by the actions and it’s important to see where those actions land, because anything that brings people closer to the centre of things is good them and good for the team, because not showing them looks like you have something to hide.
No, if the only reason you’re showing them is to make them feel responsible or accountable for something you care about more than they do and over which they have no ability to control.
People care first about how things are going generally and, beyond that, whether their mortgage is safe.
Show your team the numbers. Just don’t expect the numbers on their own to manage or motivate the team.
