So we hang
It’s axiomatic that things don’t get done unless people do them. And most times, people don’t. They leave them hanging, and if you’re waiting for something to get done, you’re left hanging too. Communication helps – it’s possible to feel, erm, not hanging, if they tell you the what and the why of the delay … if they fill in the blank space with updates. And most times, people don’t do that either. Part of the thing that isn’t getting done, is the talking part. So. We. Hang.
Don’t be that person. Don’t be the hang leaver.
Be the other guy. The rarer guy. The one who does what they say they’re going to do and let’s people know when they can’t and has a plan for how to overcome the issue. The one they like to deal with.
Skippy strategy: Do what you say you’re going to do. Tell them when you can’t.
