Tinted spectacles

There will be ups.
At the end of the presentation, in the middle of the sales call, when the contracts are signed, with the inbound enquiry, at the latest hire, when things come together, in a moment of zen, when the product sings, with a slap on the back, when the entire picture glows.
There will be downs.
When you’re cursing developers, moaning about customers, chewing out a colleague, clearing up the mess, fighting fires, dealing with that difficult conversation, smoothing a complaint, letting him go, making her redundant, switching out old-friend suppliers, looking in the mirror.
It’s not what happens, it’s how you deal with what happens.
Whether it’s good or bad, up or down, fire or ice – you were a part of it, not all of it. Treat both sides just the same – clearly … no tinted spectacles.
