A nail it downer
The nail it downer is a foot tapper, wanting and waiting to get to the meat of the thing.
For the rest of us, it’s fun and easy to throw things at a whiteboard. No hassle, no worries about actually having to do this stuff – just chuck it out there and see how it looks. We take our time to whittle. If we’re lucky, we refine the wild ideas from one board to the next, iteration by iteration, until we’re left with the lean, direct, as-assumption-free-as-possible, coherent plan.
In the moment, it’s easy to rail against the nail it downer, wrangle against their trivialities. Why do they make everything so difficult?
After the fact, boy is it good to have a clear plan, with the details sorted and everyone knowing what they’re responsible for and when.
