When people do what they say they’re going to do, it’s easy to take it for granted. When you have people around you who commonly do what they say they’re going to do, you’re almost guaranteed to take them for granted – after all, they always do it, you expect them to do it, they did do it, so what? Your thinking – if it’s all good over here, you can spend your time, energy and attention on something or someone else.
The thing is, good people shouldn’t be ignored.
When someone, anyone, doesn’t feel appreciated – even if they’ve been around forever and they’ve felt appreciated in the past – they’ll be open to anything that turns their head. Like praise to someone else. Like praise from somewhere else. Like anyone else paying attention.
