Flight

You’re smart. You can work it out. Spend enough time on Google and eventually you’ll have a passing knowledge, enough to talk about it anyway, (enough to know there’s more you don’t know). Enough to know that you’ll have to spend a lot more time on Google before you even reach the level of uninformed amateur. A bit more time. A bit more stumbling. A bit more going around in circles working out that you’ve been here before. Maybe, just maybe, smart as you are, you’ll get there. Or, smarter still, that on this thing, this non-core thing, you don’t have to.

So, you ask. You call or email one of those people who’ve impressed you over the years. They’ll know.

Two things here: find and keep in touch with people who impress you, and get comfortable asking for help.

Skippy strategy: Who do you know who knows? Ask them.
