I have seen the silo

I have seen the silo and the silo is me. I complain that I don’t know what’s happening, that the people don’t work together in teams, that the teams don’t working together on common causes, that the left hand never knows what’s happening and the right one doesn’t care.

And all the while I do things on my own, I keep things under my hat, I worry that too many people might know too much so I tell too few people just a little too little. I train my teams to be self sufficient and get on with things but forget to train them in the importance of the loop. I tell them the importance of the loop and then fail to keep them in my own. I live inside exactly the organisation I help to create.
