If it doesn’t fit

Aloe

Once upon a time, way back when, some bright spark designed it this way. It was set up so Tab A could only find its way home in Slot B if it was held like this and turned like that. The system was put in place and everyone did it that way. Thing is, the world continued to turn, and what was once a perfectly sensible and practical way of making things happen became the incredibly irritating thing that stopped things from working. But the system is the system. So everyone got on with finding their own special route for navigating their way around the system.

If only someone could sweep away the dysfunctional – we’ve always done it this way – and gather the clans around a bright clean whiteboard.

Today, what’s the smart way to do this?

Skippy strategy: If it doesn’t fit, replace it with something that does.
