Next better idea

Monument

We try new things, we try to improve things, we come up with ideas and suggestions that get put into action, and some of these things work out great. The product, the process, the effectiveness, the outcomes improve and all is good with the world. Ta da!

Sometimes though, these changes aren’t so great. They were ill conceived, not thought through, were a good idea at the time but never evolved into the great improvement they could have become. Somehow though, despite their problems, they stuck – and now we’re all stuck with their drag.

Be your own critic. When you try new things or sling ideas around, stick around and pay enough attention to work out whether they’ve worked out or not – and when they don’t, care enough to help them develop or strip them out for the next better idea.

Skippy strategy: Be your own critic.
