That little gap

There’s a gap between just enough and the right amount.
It’s in the small things. The not quite insignificant details. The place where something extra curls the corners of their lips.
It’s the friendly greeting or thank you note.
It’s the directions sent with the address.
It’s the name or birthday or sick relative remembered.
It’s the extra scoop of ice cream.
Nothing to do with expectations – either met or exceeded.
It’s about caring how they feel and doing things that make life easier or better of happier.
