A solo door

Doors

Not everyone in your team has to be on the actual team. Some can be loners, responsible for things away from everyone else, not involved in their day to day, not contributing to the joint project even when the do contribute to the wider success. A road warrior fits here, or a functional specialist.

Teams form when you need more than the sum of individual parts, when you need a collective effort. You build with people who know how to work as a group, who know they need the group, and who appreciate the benefit of working as a group.

Loners don’t like teams and teams can’t accommodate loners. It only ever works if the loner can adapt. Sometimes they want to, sometimes they try, and sometimes they actually pull it off.

Skippy strategy: Either they adapt to life as a team, or push them through a solo door.
