A motivation implant

There’s no such thing as a motivation implant.
You can use every stripe of KITA technique – Kick in the Arse – but effects are temporary and have a diminishing impact (boom! boom!).
You can cajole and coax and coach and hope hope hope.
You could try money. Pay rise plus incentives plus benefits = another temporary impact.
Teams can bring it out of each other – if you’re lucky and smart and alert to momentum, and if competitiveness and camaraderie kick in.
The best place to look though, is back at the beginning, with hiring.
Start out with smart motivated people – and do what you can to get out of their way.
