The confusion

Here’s my guess: you have a fair to middling idea in your head and given enough time and a receptive audience you can describe it at a mostly useful level of detail, and that you’re surprised when your people seem lost of confused.

Next guess: you don’t spend enough time explaining it, you don’t bring people inside the loop when they get involved, you don’t remind them of the why and the what of the thing, you forget to update them when the context or the objective of the deliverables change, and you take it for granted that they’re right there alongside you as you charge forward at the speed of thought.

Good news: you can deal with the confusion. Because you leave them in the dark or standing at the curb, or because you allow the conditions for work without context.

Skippy strategy: To remove confusion, give and maintain context.
