Gangplank

Ship

Not every bet pays off. Not every new product finds its market. Not every hire works out great. Not every research turns into development. Not every visit turns a sale.

You play risk and reward and you’re comfortable with the way that feels.

Some people don’t like the game. Some people on your team don’t like the game. Some people on your team don’t understand the game. Just because you’re at ease with it, doesn’t mean they are. They like to know that Tab A will always find its Slot B. Don’t be surprised when they get restless and worry about certainty.

That doesn’t mean ignore their fears. It does mean find the right time to bring them in, the right way to ask for their help, the shallow gang plank when you add them to the boat.

Skippy strategy: Find the easiest path when you bring new people on board.
